5 Ways To Make the Morning More Successful (and Less Stressful)

If the stress of the school run gets to you, you’re not alone. The hardest thing as a parent is that we can feel ourselves struggling before we’ve even got out the door. The morning is one of those times that could mean you have struggled with sleep or you are all running late, but this is why some of the following can set you up for a successful morning.

Get in the Right Mindset Before the Children Wake Up

As hard as it could be to adopt a more positive mindset when you are feeling really sluggish, centring yourself can make a massive difference. If you are in a happier place, you are going to be able to deal with everything. You could try meditating or doing something that makes you happier, but you could also look at tackling anxiety through simple implements such as cannabinoid spray or green tea. There are a lot of natural methods to help you out there.

Get Yourself Ready First

As parents, we can feel that our children are the priority, so we need to get them ready, but we can’t always apply logic to these situations. As they say on an aeroplane, you need to put your mask on before anybody else’s. So waking up a tiny bit earlier and getting yourself ready means that you are already one step ahead.

Preparing the Night Before

Getting a head start the night before is one of those things that if you don’t already do, can make a massive difference. Because the morning sets the tone for the entire day, you’ve got to work hard at eliminating that sense of feeling frantic. Packing lunches bags and laying out everything the night before gives everybody far better results. You could also extend this to the meals you make. Rather than provide loads of choices for your kids, you could make them overnight oats which is an amazing all-around meal. It’s important to prepare food if you can, but keep the options limited.

Sticking to the Same Sleep Routine

One of the biggest problems we all have is wanting to sleep in on the weekends. In order to tackle the morning effectively, we’ve got to get through the night. If your child is sleep-deprived, everything is harder, and one of the biggest lessons is to have the same sleep routine every single night, even on weekends. Our bodies need to stick to the same cycle which can have a positive impact on our overall health and cognitive function, but it can also set us up for effective routines in our lives.

No Devices First Thing in the Morning

When the kids get out the bed, they may want to do the things that they love which means that they won’t end up brushing their teeth right away. You can use devices as a motivator for them to get washed, brush their teeth, and eat breakfast. Because the faster they get ready for the day, the more time they have to watch television.

Getting ready can be very stressful if you’ve got to be somewhere but there are plenty of ways to make the morning more successful.
