Our brand, mission and policies

Created in 2015, The Motherload was a ‘happy accident’ that turned into a passion project for Kate Dyson. Starting as a parenting support group and then website, Kate’s personal interest in women’s health was combined into The Motherload in 2024 to create one of the largest platforms supporting women in every chapter of their lives, from motherhood to menopause.

Our mission

The Motherload is a space to explore the complexity of what it means to be a woman in 2024. We’re here to empower and support women through every stage of life – from the first steps of motherhood to the journey through menopause. Our mission is to destigmatise the topics that have too often been shrouded in silence: from hormones and menstrual health to the realities of perimenopause.

We’re a community and ‘edu-torial’ site devoted to shedding light on these essential aspects of women’s health and wellbeing. Through honest, accessible, and supportive content, we strive to equip every woman with the knowledge and confidence to advocate for herself, embrace her body, and connect with a like-minded community. Together, we’re breaking down taboos and opening up conversations that matter.

The Motherload reaches nearly 200,000 women every month across a variety digital and social platforms. The Motherload has long been recognised as a thought-leader in the parenting space, having featured in a broad selection of print, digital and broadcast media. The Motherload’s founder, Kate Dyson, is an award-winning content marketer who understands the power and responsibility of content that informs, supports and nurtures women’s needs.

Editorial standards and practices

The Motherload strives to apply best practices for content we feature on our site. We take care to interview experts as appropriate to our articles, and to cite information from nationally recognised agencies, organisations, research institutes, and peer-reviewed medical journals. Our articles may undergo review and update from time to time, in line with current research and latest information within the health space.

How The Motherload earns revenue

In order to provide you with the very best content, The Motherload runs advertisements.

Additionally, The Motherload may join or partner with other companies, and/or earn commission or affiliate revenue through products you see on the website, community or our social media channels, or publish sponsored or branded content or videos. Products that earn us affiliate revenue are frequently tested by our community and team.
