20 Random Christmas Gifts MOLOs Really Received

Opening presents can be a tense business – will you genuinely like the gift which someone has (presumably) lovingly chosen for you, or will you be in the awkward situation of having to feign joyful surprise? However, sometimes you find yourself in the unenviable position of receiving something which renders you speechless, because it is so utterly random that it’s hard to imagine anyone thinking it would make an appropriate offering.

Here are 20 random Christmas gifts which MOLOs really received:

1. My mum bought me a packet of bacon sprinkles???? Why????

2. My MIL bought me a jar of olives. I don’t even like olives.

3. I get royal mail stamps every year. I don’t even use stamps.

4. Cocktail napkins here!

5. I got a bag of candle wicks.

6. My Nan brought me an apple slicer.

7.  I got a £1 New Look voucher. The same person gave my partner a jar of marmite.

8. My kids got me presents from Poundland. I gave them a fiver each and loitered at the exit. I woke up to crisps.

9. My dad brought me wheelie bin number stickers.

10. I got a letterbox and a she-wee from my fiancé. I don’t think we’ll be getting married!

11. I got a pack of Kleenex balsam tissues.

12. I got a mini Yankee candle marked 2014. It smells strange so it’s going to be a secret santa present next year…

13. I got tampons and a knife block.

14. A three pack of socks that go up to size 6. My feet are an 8. And there were only 2 pairs in the pack.

15. Pound shop perfume. It smelled like public men’s toilets…

16. I got a pair of used Chinese slippers.

17. An ice scraper for the car.

18. I was given a present by my other half. I thought I was unwrapping jewellery and lo and behold it was a Minion key ring. I was 21 and don’t even like Minions.

19. My Nan brought my husband a comb. The best bit is, he doesn’t have hair!

20. My Nan labelled some black bin bags specifically for my husband last year. She also got us foil and cling film. The highlight was the box of Yorkshire Tea bags – we don’t drink tea and never have. I gave the box to my MIL who took them to a charity committee evening, she opened the box to make some tea, and it was full of daffodil bulbs.

Thanks to all the MOLOs who shared their brilliantly random Christmas presents with us!
