Toys ‘R’ Us and Babies ‘R’ Us have issued a product recall for the Bruin Wiggle Ball – also known as the Giggle Ball – following concerns.
The Bruin Wiggle Ball has been withdrawn from sale following concerns that it poses a choking hazard to babies and young children after Toys ‘R’ Us received six reports of the knobs on the toy breaking off to reveal small parts, including four reports where broken pieces from the toy were found in children’s mouths.
A spokesperson for Toys ‘R’ Us said, “We can confirm that the Bruin Wiggle Ball has been recalled. The toy has been withdrawn from sale and we ask that customers return it to a Toys ‘R’ Us, or Babies ‘R’ Us for a full refund.’
The ball vibrates, and plays three different musical tunes. It is blue in colour, with distinctive orange, green and yellow knobs. It takes three AA batteries to operate and has an on/off switch. The recalled toy carries the item number 067369 and model number 5F6342E.
Parents and caregivers are advised to remove the Wiggle Ball from their children immediately and return the product to Toys ‘R’ Us, or Babies ‘R’ Us, for a full refund.
No other products sold by Babies ‘R’ Us are affected by this recall notice.
