Easy Easter Craft for Toddlers: Paper Plate Bunnies

Easter can be a great opportunity to engage toddlers in crafts, if your sanity can tolerate it. Crafting is an excellent way to stimulate creativity and develop fine motor skills in children, and there are many simple and enjoyable Easter crafts that are perfect for toddlers. Here’s a quick and easy idea – Paper plate bunnies! If you like making one, how about doing a few and stringing them together in a ‘bunting’ fashion?

  • Paper plates
  • Pink and white construction paper or crayons/ felt tips pens
  • Googly eyes
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Here are the steps to make the paper plate bunnies:

  1. Cut out two bunny ears from the white construction paper and two smaller ears from the pink construction paper.
  2. Glue the pink ears onto the white ears.
  3. Cut a small triangle from the pink construction paper for the bunny’s nose.
  4. Glue the googly eyes and nose onto the paper plate.
  5. Cut a pipe cleaner in half and shape each half into a “V” for the bunny’s whiskers.
  6. Glue the whiskers onto the paper plate, just below the nose.

It’s important to supervise toddlers closely when they are using scissors to ensure their safety and to teach them how to handle scissors properly (we know you know that really)
