Boots have issued an immediate recall over fears a manufacturing fault may have caused their dummies to be unsafe for babies and children.
The pharamacy today warned parents to stop using two of their Baby Airflow Soother products after the chain discovered that the devices could be faulty.
One of the airflow soothers identified are recommended for babies aged 0 to 6 months and the other type were for babies older than six months.
Boots issued a statement earlier today and said, “The health and safety of our customers and patients is always our highest priority, and we want to make you aware that we’ve discovered a potential manufacturing fault in two Boots Baby Soothers. As a precautionary measure, we are recalling these two Boots Baby Soothers.”
Parents are urged to cease using the soothers with immediate effect and to return them to local stores immediately for a full refund or replacement for a similar item.
Boots has apologised to customers for any inconvenience and offered reassurance that as soon as the fault was identified as part of their quality control process they removed the items from sale.
